DISTRICT CHHATARPUR (M.P.)

Establishment:                                                                                                                          

                                    The NIC-District Informatics Centre , District Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh)   was established in the years 1988-89 to establish  and  promote   the computer culture in the Government Departments under District Administration and  speed up the flow of information amongst District ,State and   Centre. The purpose was achieved by computerising various procedures and schemes pertaining to various departments with compiling, managing and analysing the related data and transmitting the same in the desired form over India’s First largest satellite based Computer Network NICNET, thereby speeding up the process of planning and implementation of various Government Schemes that paved a   path to faster development. Marching ahead on the path of progress NIC has recently established the Video Conferencing Studio at the District.

Technical Staff :

                                    There are two posts of Technical staff from NIC namely  District Informatics Officer and District Informatics Associate. The man power for local projects are managed from District Departments.

Major Activities and Achievements :  

                                                            The DIC Chhatarpur has been successfully serving the purpose through various activities. A few are mentioned as follows:

E-mail and Internet Services:          Thrust worthy email and internet facilities are made available over NICNET  to the Govt. Departments at their respective locations directly or through dialup networking. Govt. Departments can send and receive the e-mails and browse internet now without any problems. The E-mail facility is also available at DIC for those having no computer infrastructure presently.

Training : Training sessions are organised at DIC for the staff of Govt. Departments as and when required. The programme comprises mainly training on Computer Basics and the software related to the concerning departments.

Video Conferencing: NIC has been instrumental in establishing and managing the Video Conferencing Studio at District Collectorate where the officials from various Govt. Departments  attend regularly to the multi point conferences and meetings with higher official at State Head Quarters online with a feel of liveliness.  The facility is viewed as a boon for the small District like Chhatarpur.

Implementation and development of Projects : The activity that made DIC Chhatarpur the backbone of computerisation in the District is implementation of various projects developed at State or Centre level and developing the projects catering to the local needs. Since its inception, the  DIC chhatarpur has been extending reliable support in the  field of computers to all its users and has successfully  handled many small and big projects. Just a  few sizeable projects which are successfully accomplished and deserve due mention are   DISPLAN,   Election Procedures (All General and Local body elections), 11- Point Programme, PIS of Employees and Disbursement of Final Lists (During Formation of Chhattisgarh State),  Land Records MIS, Patta Compilation, Gram Sampark Abhiyan 1999-2000-01-02, BPL MIS, AISES, Arms Licensing, Rationalisation of School Education, AISES, 3-MI Census etc. Apart from these many other projects are running on regular basis.

District Court Computersation : NIC has also established in 1997 an extension centre at District Court Chhatarpur. The concerned employees from District Court were duly trained who are using the computers in their day to day office and accounting work.

Technical Support and consultancy : DIC Chhatarpur has been extending  to its users all possible technical support in computer related aspects adhering to its policy. Efforts are always on to explore newer projects which are potentially good for computerization and district administration is suggested accordingly.

Project Coordination: DIC Chhatarpur has successfully coordinated computerization related projects undertaken by NICSI and State Government with full support towards satisfactory implementation of the same.
